Satish Kaushik lands role in Bala's "Tharai Thappattai"


Bollywood actor-filmmaker Satish Kaushik, who captured evreyone's eye with his brilliant performance in Nagesh Kukunoor's "Lakshmi", has landed an important role in Bala Pazhanisaamy's upcoming Tamil film "Tharai Thappattai".

"Bala sir had approached Satish Kaushik for an important role in his film, which the latter grabbed it instantly. Satish will join the team from the next schedule," a source from the film's unit told.

Satish Kaushik had remade Bala's critically acclaimed Tamil film "Sethu" in Hindi as "Tere Naam" with Salman Khan and Bhumika. Since then, both have been great friends. Sources say Satish plays an important role in the film.

Siddharth's 'Enakkul Oruvan' gets clean U


Actor Siddharth who scored a hit with Karthik Subbaraj's "Jigarthanda" is gearing up for the release of his next film "Enakkul Oruvan". Thirukumaran Entertainments presenting Enakkul oruvan is the Tamil remake of the Kannada Superhit "Lucia". The film went for censoring yesterday and has received a clean U certificate without having to make any cuts.

Lucia actress Deepa Sannidhi is making her Tamil debut with Enakkul Oruvan. Prasad Marar who directed Lucia will also directed the Tamil version. Santhosh Narayanan’s music for the film is already topping the charts.  John Paul is in charge of editing.

Siddharth's 'Kaaviya Thalaivan' will be releasing in theaters on 28th November, while Enakkul O
ruvan will likely be releasing in December or January.

Vir Das secretly weds Shivani Mathur in Srilanka

Actor Vir Das, best known for his comic avatars in films like Love Aaj Kal (2009) Delhi Belly (2011), Go Goa Gone (2013), Amit Sahni Ki List and Revolver Rani is now a married man.
Vir Das tied the knot with his five year old girlfriend Shivani Mathur at a secret ceremony in Sri Lanka on October 19th.

Talking about his marriage, the comedian turned actor said, “We wanted to have to have a small ceremony for our wedding, there were only about 100 people, comprised of family and close friends.” He further added “I preferred my wedding to be a quiet affair. The rule at the wedding event was that everyone switched off their smart- phones to spend quality time with each other.”

Only family members and close friends of Vir Das and Shivani attended their marriage. The wedding consisted of a pool party, a rock concert, the sangeet ceremony and then the pheras. A source close to Vir said, 'Owing to Vir and Shivani’s busy schedule, the couple haven’t had the time to go for a honeymoon, but would be soon taking time out.'

Vir Das is quite excited as he has around five films slated for release next year.

'Happy New Year' script to enter Oscars library


Farah Khan's latest heist drama "Happy New Year"  has one more achievement to add to it.   The movie’s script has been included into Academy of Motion Pictures Library.  Farah Khan took to social networking website Twitter to share her joy and delight over the news and thanked her co-writers for penning the script.

"1 more reason 2 celebrate!! #HNY script goes to the Oscar library!! Bigg kiss to my co writers @mayurpuri n Althea k," she tweeted Sunday.

‘Happy New Year’, directed by Farah Khan, has an ensemble comprising SRK, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, Sonu Sood, Vivaan Shah and Jackie Shroff.  The movie which was released Oct 24, has crossed over Rs.300 crore mark at the worldwide box office.
