Ace Producer Ramanaidu dies of cancer at 78

Veteran Producer Daggubati Ramanaidu is no more. Popularly referred to as Movie Moghul, for the works he rendered to Indian cinema Rama Naidu breathed his last today at his residence at 2.30 PM. He was 78. Ramanaidu is survived by his sons Suresh Babu, Venkatesh Daggubati and grandsons Rana and Naga Chaitanya.

NTR's Ramudu Bheemudu [1964] was Rama Naidu's first production film under his Suresh Productions banner. In a career lasting over five decades, Ramanaidu produced over 150 films in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Oriya, English, Punjabi languages and acquired huge success. The 78-years-old holds Guinness Book of Records for producing highest number of films and producing films in various languages.

The Veteran Producer is also known for his philanthropic activities under the Ramanaidu Charitable Trust since 1991. He also founded Ramanaidu Film School in 2008. The Padma Bhushan, Dadasaheb Phalke awardee also received an honorary doctorate from Sri
Venkateswara University.
