Emraan injures his wrist while shooting for Azhar's biopic

Bollywood Serial Kisser Emraan Hashmi has injured his wrist during the shooting of his upcoming biopic on former Indian cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin. It is learnt that Emraan had been working extensively for the movie, attending several intense training sessions. During one such practice sessions, Emraan pulled a muscle and carried on to practice despite having painful swelling on his wrists. In severe pain, doctors advised Emraan to go for a break of at least three to four days.

According to Anthony D'Souza, since Azharuddin is known for being a wristy player, Emraan too had been playing only with his wrists. In fact, Emraan used to hit nearly 300 to 400 balls a day as he wanted to look authentic and match Azharuddin's style.

The biopic starring Emraan Hashmi has already been delayed for various reasons. Last year the film was postponed because of the bad health of the actor's son. Now, that Emraan's injury has affected the film. The biopic features Prachi Desai as Azhar’s first wife Naureen.

Zakir Hussain turns Psycho lover in 'Game Paisa Ladki'


Actor Zakir Hussain, who impressed the audiences and critics with his natural acting in movies like "Phoonk", "Johnny Gaddar", "Sarkar", "Shagird" is playing the role of a psycho lover in the movie "Game Paisa Ladki" directed by Sachin Agarwal

"Zakir will be seen in a never before intense, dark and grey character in this movie, something which he hasn't attempted before. He is essaying the role of psycho lover who goes a bit out of control. He will surely leave the audience asking for more," Agarwal told.

The director also thinks that his performance in "Game Paisa Ladki" is among his finest works.

"A surprise package in the film will be a song where the hero and the villain will together romance the heroine. And of course, Zakir will be one of them," he said.

"Game Paisa Ladki" also features Sezal Sharma, Ranjeet, Sitaram Panchal among others.

The film is produced by Atul Patel and Sajan Agarwal under the banner Modern Movie Pvt. Ltd. The film is slated to hit the screens in April 2015.

Ace Producer Ramanaidu dies of cancer at 78

Veteran Producer Daggubati Ramanaidu is no more. Popularly referred to as Movie Moghul, for the works he rendered to Indian cinema Rama Naidu breathed his last today at his residence at 2.30 PM. He was 78. Ramanaidu is survived by his sons Suresh Babu, Venkatesh Daggubati and grandsons Rana and Naga Chaitanya.

NTR's Ramudu Bheemudu [1964] was Rama Naidu's first production film under his Suresh Productions banner. In a career lasting over five decades, Ramanaidu produced over 150 films in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Oriya, English, Punjabi languages and acquired huge success. The 78-years-old holds Guinness Book of Records for producing highest number of films and producing films in various languages.

The Veteran Producer is also known for his philanthropic activities under the Ramanaidu Charitable Trust since 1991. He also founded Ramanaidu Film School in 2008. The Padma Bhushan, Dadasaheb Phalke awardee also received an honorary doctorate from Sri
Venkateswara University.

Kangna denies playing Aamir's daughter in 'Dangal'


While there were many speculations in the media over the news that Kangna Ranaut has been roped in to play Aamir Khan's daughter in his upcoming movie "Dangal", Kangna herself clarified on this and denied her presence in the film.

“Dangal was never offered to me. I’d love to work with Mr Khan sometime soon, but we aren’t working on Dangal together,” says Kangana according to a report published by leading daily.

Some sections of media has reported that Kangana will play Geeta Phogat, daughter of wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat to be portrayed by perfectionist Aamir Khan. The film will be directed by Nitesh Tiwari.

Kangna is busy with ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ or Tanu Weds Manu 2, which is a romantic comedy film written by Himanshu Sharma. The director of the sequel to the successful 2011 film is Anand L. Rai. The movie is starring by R. Madhavan and Kangana Ranaut.

Puri Jagannath-Mahesh Babu's next is 'Dhamki'

Puri Jagannath, who is enjoying the success of his recent release 'Temper' will direct Mahesh Babu for the third time after Pokiri and Businessman. The movie is likely to go on floors in April. Latest update is that Puri Jagannath and his creative team is considering the title Dhamki for this racy entertainer. Earlier there were rumors that 'Rogue' is the title in consideration so we have to wait for some more time to get an official announcement.

Mahesh Babu is currently busy with Koratala Siva's upcoming movie titled 'Srimanthudu'. Shruti Haasan is playing female lead opposite Mahesh for the first time in this commercial entertainer. Jagapathi Babu, Rajendra Prasad, Brahmanandam are playing pivotal roles. Devi Sri Prasad takes care of the music, while Mythri Movies is producing the project.

Mani Ratnam's 'OK Kanmani' now titled 'Oh Kadhal Kanmani'


The title of director Mani Ratnam's next featuring Dulquar Salman and Nithya Menon in the lead roles is now officially titled "Oh Kadhal Kanmani". The film initially titled OK Kanmani is now being changed to Oh Kadhal Kanmani.  Apparently, the change in the title could be on cards for the tax sops, state sources.

Produced by Ratnam's home studio Madras Talkies, 'Oh Kadhal Kanmani' has Prakash Raj, Leela Samson and Kanika in prominent roles. Oh Kadhal Kanmani will be simultaneously released in Tamil and Malayalam and will also be dubbed in Telugu as Okay Bangaram.

The shoot of the movie is complete and it is currently in post production stage.  The movie is scheduled for release on April 10th this year and the audio of the movie will be launched by the end of this month.  AR Rahman is scoring music and Vairamuthu has penned the lyrics for the tracks.

Nagarjuna-Karthi's multi-starrer launched formally


Akkineni Nagarjuna and Karthi's much anticipated bi-lingual multistarrer was formally launched today at Annapurna Studios. Nagarjuna, Karthi, Akhil, Naga Chaitanya,PVP, Vamsi Paidipally, Amala etc attended the formal pooja ceremony. Vamsi Paidipally is weilding megaphone for this movie. The regular shooting of the film starts on March 16th and will be completed by the end of June. In Tamil, Studio Green will be jointly producing the film with PVP cinemas. The film will be shot in Hyderabad, Chennai and foreign locations.

Shruti Haasan has been roped into play female lead in this film and Jayasudha will play a key role. 'Malli Malli Idhi Rani Roju' fame Gopi Sundar will compose the music for this film and P.S.Vinod of Manam movie fame is to handle the camera. Story is written by Vamsi paidipalli,Hari,Solman. Dialogues are written by Abburi Ravi. Srikar Prasad is the editor.

Kamal Haasan to star in 'PK' south remake


The latest 'hot talk' doing rounds in Kollywood is that Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan is all set to star in remake of Aamir Khan's recent blockbuster PK directed by RajKumar Hirani. According to sources, Gemini Productions have bagged the remake rights of this film for a fancy price and planning to recreate it in Tamil and Telugu. Kamal Hassan was signed on dotted lines to play Aamir Khan's role from the original, while the rest of the cast will be finalised soon.

"Gemini Film Circuit has acquired the film's remake rights and Kamal Haasan is expected to play the lead. Gemini had already remade two of Hirani's films and they were really impressed with 'PK' too," a source close to the production house told.

Reports are also suggesting that a top director would wield the megaphone for the movie. Shooting is expected to get a kickstart by the end of May.

Shreya Ghoshal ties the knot with Shiladitya


National Award Winning Playback Singer Shreya Ghoshal has secretly tied the knot with her beau Shiladitya in a private ceremony. Only family members and close friends of the couple attended the wedding which was held in a function hall on the outskirts of the city yesterday.

Shreya Ghoshal officially announced her marriage on the social media today. She wrote, “Married the love of my life yesterday night (5th feb) in a beautiful bengali traditional wedding in presence of our families and closest friends. Shiladitya and I both seek your good wishes in this exciting new phase of our lives!”

A few days before the big day the singer expressed her nervousness on Twitter through a cryptic tweet on January 30. She posted, “Don’t know id I’m super nervous or super excited..Never felt like this b4. Whatever I am up to I will let u know soon;) but need ur wishes.” (sic).

Anushka Sharma's "NH 10" first look poster out

The much awaited poster of Anushka Sharma's debut production venture NH10 has been officially released.  Anushka Sharma  took to Twitter to reveal the first look of the film. She tweeted "Presenting the first look of my special film @NH10themovie 😊 is it intriguing?  #NH10FirstLook". In the poster, Anushka is seen holding a stick in her hand, however her face isn't visible. It has 'No Turning Back' written on it.

The film is also set to feature Neil Bhoopalam and Darshan Kumaar in key roles. Navdeep Singh, who won accolades with "Manorama 6 Feet Under" is weilding megaphone for this edge of the seat action thriller about a road trip that goes wrong.  Anushka Sharma is co-producing the film along with Phantom Productions and Eros, including Anurag Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwane, Krishika Lulla, Vikas Bahl and Karnesh Sharma.

Palash Muchhal is composing music for 'NH 10', which is slated to release on 6th March 2015.

Kangna Ranaut bagged best actress trophy for 'Queen'

Actress Kangna Ranaut won the prized Black Lady for best actor(Female) for her boisterous performance in "Queen" at the 60th Britannia Filmfare Awards ceremony. Kangana, who saw off competition from Alia Bhatt, Madhuri Dixit, Priyanka Chopra, Rani Mukerji and Sonam Kapoor in the best actress category, was not present to accept her award.

Kangna was present at an event in Mumbai Sunday when she was asked to share her emotions on winning the award.

“It feels great. I think that event I’m here for also talks about making your mark and last night (at the Filmfare Awards), I think in a way the kind of respect and acknowledgment that my film got, also literally meant making your mark.”

Apart for Kangana, Shahid Kapoor also won the Filmfare award for Best Actor (Male) for his performance in the film ‘Haider’.

Young star Alia Bhatt bagged the best actress (Critics) trophy for Highway and Sanjay Mishra won the best actor (Critics) for his outstanding performance in Ankhon Dekhi, which also earned director-writer Rajat Kapoor the best story gong.

Kriti Sanon won best debut female award for Heropanti, while Pakistani heartthrob Fawad Khan won the best debut male award for 'Khoobsurat'. Rajkumar Hirani and Abhijat Joshi won for PK in the best screenplay and best dialogue categories, which were the only wins for the Aamir Khan-starrer film.

Jai to do a cameo in Idhu Namma Aalu

Actor Jai, who is currenlty busy shooting with films like Valiyavan and Pugazh is said to have given his nod to do a cameo in Pandiraj's upcoming film "Idhu Namma Aalu". Simbu, Nayantara and Andrea Jeremiah are playing lead roles in INA. Soori and Santhanam prodving comic relief.  Jai will be seen in a cameo role in Simbu's 'Vaalu'. Interestingly, both STR and Jai have played the lead roles in Vettai Mannan which is still lying in the cans since 3 years.

'Idhu Namma Aalu' will see Nayantha
ra pairing up with Simbu after seven years and the expectations are sky rocketing.  Simbu plays an IT professional in the flash back and Andrea will be his teenage love.  Simbu's brother Kuralarasan is debuting as music director with Simbu Cine Arts producing Idhu Namma Aalu. Balasubramaniem is handling the camera.

Ajith offers prayers at Tirumala


Thala Ajith on Wednesday offered prayers at the famous hill temple of Lord Venkateswara in Tirumala. Ajith who is awaiting the release of Gautham Menon's upcoming action entertainer "Yennai Arindhaal" reached Tirumala late on Tuesday night. After an overnight stay at the Padmavathi Guest House, Ajith offered prayers at the temple during the VIP break in the morning. Dressed in a casual way, Ajith looked completely devotional. The actor previously visited the temple and tonsured his head before the release of 'Veeram' and the film was a box office success.
