'Fireflies' to hit the screens on October 31st

Rahul Khanna and Monica Dogra starrer film 'Fireflies' is now all set to hit the silver screens in India on 31st of October 2014. Directed by Sabal Singh Sheikhawat, the movie is being produced by Wild Geese Pictures and distributed by Panorama Studios. The film also stars the very talented Arjun Mathur who has been a part of films like Mira Nair’s Migration and Zoya Akhtar’s Luck by Chance.

'Fireflies' is a drama capturing the lives of two estranged brothers. One brother who leads a very successful life as a banker and the other who is a law school drop out and lives by the day. Fate brings them together when a tragedy that struck them 15 years ago re-manifests itself in a new avatar in their life. Monica plays the love interest of the character essayed by Arjun in the film, which is said to be an emotional journey of self-discovery.

Shankar's 'I' finally wraps up shoot

The shoot of Shankar's upcoming magnum opus "I" which stars Vikram in the lead role has just wrapped up. On this note, the entire cast and crew had a small celebrations on the sets. The film unit arranged a cake and director Shankar had cut it. Amy Jackson who is playing female lead opposite Vikram in "I" shared a picture in her Twitter page and wrote, “2 and a half years later.. And it's a WRAP!!!!”

Directed by Shankar, I has been reportedly made on a budget of over Rs. 150 crore. It also features Suresh Gopi and Upen Patel in important roles. The film's soundtrack, which has music by AR Rahman, was recently unveiled in the presence of Hollywood star Arnold Schwarzenegger and Rajinikanth

Sushant Singh Rajput is still a part of Sekhar Kapur's 'Paani'

Sushant Singh Rajput is angry with a section of the press for publishing reports suggesting that he has walked out of Sekhar Kapur's ambitious project 'Paani'. There were reports that Sushant had tight schedule and so has opted out of the film. But denying all the rumors, Sushant has clarified that he is very much part of the film.

"We were very amused to read speculations that Sushant Singh Rajput is not in Paani due to a variety of absurd reasons. There is absolutely NO truth to it. Sushant keeps a low profile and let's his work speak for itself. He has recently completed 'Detective Byomkesh Bakshi' and is deep in preparations for 'Paani' given the scale of the film," said his spokesperson.

Ayesha Kapoor has been roped to play female lead opposite Sushant. ‘Paani’, which is to go on floors by coming December, is produced by Yash Raj Films with music by A.R. Rahman. 'Paani' is set in the futuristic period of 2050. It depicts the story about how the world will be torn apart due to water scarcity, with the big corporate and multinational companies using thirst as a weapon to gain control over the population. 

'Liar's Dice' is India's entry for the Oscars

Geetu Mohandas's award winning Hindi film "Liar's Dice" has been zeroed in on as India's entry for the best foreign film category at the 87th Academy Awards. The film has been chosen by a 12-member jury appointed by the Film Federation of India (FFI), and out of a record number of 30 shortlisted films. Geethanjali Thapa and Nawazuddin Siddiqui played lead roles.  The film also features Murari Kumar and Mukesh Tiwari in supporting role.

'Liar's Dice' won the best cinematography honour for Rajeev Ravi and best actress title for Geetanjali at the 61st National Film Awards. It was selected at the Sundance Film Festival and International Film Festival Rotterdam. Part road movie and part survival drama, 'Liar’s Dice' tells the story of a young tribal mother who, along with her three-year-old daughter, embarks on a journey in search of her missing husband. On the way, she meets an army deserter, who decides to accompany them to their destination.

Simbu clears air on Kissing video

Tamil little superstar Silambarasan Rajendar aka Simbu who is gearing up for the release of his action entertanier "Vaalu", is in news for all wrong reasons. A kissing video is doing rounds in social networking sites. Rumor is strongly doing the rounds that the persons in the video are Tamil actor Simbu and Kannada actress Harshika. It was said that it was during the SIIMA Awards in Malaysia where Harshike and Simbu met and got closer this much. Strengthening this video, the actress Harshika shared a picture with Simbu in her official Facebook page recently.

However, when a reporter asked Simbu about the same, he denied it and said he is not a part of it.  Simbu has also asked that why he should gets tensed for a fake video and hence he didn't talk about it.

Simbu who was in a relationship with Hansika, was earlier linked with the actress Nayanthara. Though there were rumours about Simbu and Hansika tying the knot soon, the duo broke up a few months ago. Simbu was earlier embroiled in controversy when his intimate pictures with Nayanthara surfaced online.

RGV takes a dig at Mahesh Babu's 'Aagadu'

Actor Mahesh Babu and Tamanna featured 'Aagadu' has got released Yesterday(19th September) and received mixed review from the critics. Many celebrities from Tollywood Industry has watched this film and tweeted giving best wishes to Aagadu Unit.  Controversial Director Ram Gopal Varma has watched the film,’Aagadu’, and has made some comments on the film.

“Just watched Aagadu and now going to watch Dhookudu, Business Man and Pokiri and I sincerely think Mahesh also should do the same”, He continued the tweet “Am told Aagadu is a 75 crores film and in sheer comparison Magadheera looks like a 750 crores Film”. In order to give more clarification he again tweeted “My comparison between “Aagadu” and “Magadheera” is mainly because they both are the most expensive films in their own individual times”.

These tweets clearly explain that RGV got very irritated after watching Aagadu movie and he busted out through his tweets.

Vijay's Kaththi teaser launched

The audio and teaser of Ilayathalapathy Vijay's upcoming movie "Kaththi" has been released yesterday at an event held at leela palace, Chennai. As per its trailer, Kaththi is a romantic action movie with a high entertainment quotient. Samantha is playing female lead opposite Vijay for the first time in Kaththi. Bollywood actor Neil Nitin Mukesh is making his debut in Kollywood. The other cast members include Tata Roy and Comedian Sathish. Murugadoss is the director. "Kaththi", produced by Lyca Productions has music scored by Anirudh Ravichander. The movie will hit screens on the Diwali day.

M F Hussain wants to paint Anushka Sharma

M F Hussain's latest muse is Anushka Sharma and surprisingly, this has happened post the release of Band Baaja Baraat.After watching the film, the artist apparently showered her with praises and he now wishes to make a painting with her. And that's not all. They say the artist also wants to invite her to Qatar so he can meet her.

Our source said, "After Madhuri, Tabu and Amrita Rao, Hussainsaab finds Anushka extremely charming. He wants to make her painting and name it 'Punjab Ki Kudi'.

He wishes to meet her personally. Hussain saab has already watched Band Baaja Baraat eight times."

And given a chance, the artist would want to watch it again.

When contacted, Anushka's spokesperson said, "Yes Hussain saab has been showering Anushka with compliments.But we have not had a direct dialogue with him so far. A well-known film critic did get in touch with us saying that Hussain saab is extremely impressed with Anushka.

Once we contact the artist, we will think of the next course of action. We have so far not received any invitation from him directly. This is something that cannot be kept under wraps."

Earlier, Hussain had made Gaja Gamini with Madhuri Dixit and Meenaxi-A Tale of Two Cities with Tabu. But he could not make a film with Amrita Rao. Is one being planned with Anushka? Only time will tell.

Mallika Sherawat returns to Bollywood

The way Big B took bollywood to new horizon and is famous world over, her daughter in law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is recognized as Bollywood brand ambassador. She also got opportunity to act in Hollywood film. But Aishwarya is not the bollywood actress to get opportunity in Hollywood but Hot Hot & Bold Mallika Sherawat also got the chance to act in Hollywood Films.

Firangi film producers prefers Mallika. Interesting thing is that Aishwarya's films hasn't performed well there but still Mallika gets offer from overseas. Recently she did Hollywood film with English action star Jackson Sthems in British film. This star was last seen in Expendables. He is also known for his series "Transporter" in Hollywood. But Hot Mallika is not happy for the footage given to her, so is back to India.

She says if her demand is fulfilled by the Hollywood producers than only she will work for them. This is her one more style to attract people?
