Dinesh Mongia to make his Bollywood debut

Former Indian cricketer Dinesh Mongia will be seen on the big screen soon. Dinesh Mongia is set to make his Bollywood debut with Rabinder Parashar upcoming comic caper "Kabab Me Haddi". Interestingly Mongia, who is a huge fan of Amitabh Bachchan in real life, plays a fan of the star in the film, too. The movie also has singer Daler Mehndi essaying an important role.

"Acting just happened to me by chance,"noted Mongia in a press release. "As cricketers, we are used to constantly face the camera, so acting came naturally. My character of an income tax director who is a huge fan of Mr. Bachchan made me take up the role. What else could I have asked? I grew up watching Mr. Bachchan’s films, so studying and presenting his mannerisms on screen was a big responsibility."

He adds, “Cricket is my first love and I will always be known as a cricketer, but if my audience accepts me as an actor, I will continue to do films, too.” Mongia was trained in acting for three months.

Mongia's debut movie 'Kabab Mein Haddi' is releasing on Diwali, the same day when SRK's Happy New Year is releasing.

Govinda's daughter Narmada gets new name

Veteran Bollywood Actor Govinda's daughter Narmmadaa Ahuja will be introduced in Bollywood as Tina Ahuja now.  The starlet had earlier altered the spelling and was using name Narmmadaa instead of Narmada. However, industry insiders say that choosing the name Tina Ahuja for the silver screen is not a numerology-influenced decision. Tina happens to be Narmada’s nickname, and her friends too address her with this name that sounds quite hap and cool.

Narmada will be making her acting debut in the film Second Hand Husband, with Punjabi star Gippy Grewal.  Dharmendra is playing an important role in this movie being helmed by Punjabi filmmaker Smeep Kang. The aspiring actress is following in the footsteps of her father, who had changed his name from Govind Arun Ahuja to Govinda before entering the Hindi film industry. As far as her new name is concerned, Tina will strictly be her screen name. Her legal documents will still have name Narmada Ahuja.

Shahrukh tweets his younger son AbRam photos

Here is the photo of Shah Rukh Khan's youngest son AbRam, who was born through surrogacy last year. SRK, who has shielded AbRam eversince his birth, has kept his promise made to fans a few days ago and introduced him to his legion of fans on the auspicious day of Eid al Adha. During late night Monday, the 48-year-old tweeted a photograph in which his son is dressed in white and is seen playing with toys. The doting dad is seen kissing the "littlest one".

“Eid Al Adha Mubarak to everyone. May all have the happiness that life has to offer. The littlest one wishes you too," Shah Rukh captioned the picture.

AbRam was born prematurely by several months. Shah Rukh Khan’s teenage children Aryan and Suhana are regularly seen with him and their mom Gauri at many events.

Kamal Haasan croons a song in 'Avam'

Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan, who is currently busy shooting for Tamil thriller "Papanasam", has crooned a song for the upcoming movie, "Avam". The track – Kaarirulae - composed by KS Sundaramurthy, is a soulful rock number with lyrics by Madhan Karky. The song will appear during a pivotal scene in the film, and director Vilvakrish declared that Kamal’s haunting vocals combined with the rock elements of the track would make for a ‘brilliant sound experience’.

"Had a super recording session with Kamal sir. A song for #Avam directed by Vijaykumar & music by Sundaramurthy. An unforgettable experience to watch and hear Kamal sir breathe life into my lyrics (sic)," Madhan tweeted Saturday.

"Kamal sir's voice for #Kaarirulae, a song on a guilt feeling, will be the highlight of #Avam (sic)," he said.

Shahrukh rugged avatar for 'Happy New Year'

Here is the latest poster of Shahrukh Khan's much awaited "Happy New Year".   Featured in Hindi version and Hindi fonts, the new poster also has an impressive tagline that reads as ‘Kismat badi kutti cheeze hai, kabhi bhi palat sakti hai’. “Happy New Year’ has an ensemble cast includingDeepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, Sonu Sood and Vivaan Shah. Interestingly, Jackie Shroff will essay a negative character in the film.  The film is produced by Red Chillies Entertainments Pvt Ltd and distributed by Yash Raj Films worldwide. The movie is all set to release worldwide this Diwali. 

Ileana ready to tie the knot

If you are a fan of actress Ileana D'Cruz, then definitely this news will be a bad news for you. As per the grapevine in the Industry, Ileana is all set to tie the knot very soon with her boyfriend Andrew Keenbone.  The rumours also say that she will quit films after the marriage. She reportedly rejected some films in Bollywood and not signed any projects for next year. Ileana and Australian Photographer Andrew are often spotted together in public places in Mumbai and recently they entered the Filmfare nominations party holding hands . On the work front, she's currently busy shooting for Hindi film "Happy Ending" opposite Saif Ali Khan.

Samantha slams plastic surgery rumors

Samantha is fighting back after claims that she had plastic surgery on her nose. There’s a strong buzz in K-Town these days that Samantha had been to London a few weeks back to go under the knife to ‘correct’ her nose and that she is again scheduled to visit the same hospital for a second and ‘final’ course of surgery.  Clearing the air Samantha tweeted ‘Me, nose job! Stop it please, surgery is required for those who feels there is necessity to correct their nose, I have got one beautiful one, so, whats the need for me to go under the knife?’.

Currently, the actress is busy shooting the climax of her Tamil film '10 Enradhukulla' in Chennai.  Samantha will soon join the cast and crew of Trivikram Srinivas's untitled film. This is the second time that the actress will be working with Trivikram Srinivas after Atharintiki Daredi. Allu Arjun is playing lead role in this movie. Her last Telugu film was Rabhasa, which released on August 29.

Hema Malini begins shooting for Shimla Mirchi

Actress-politician Hema Malini recently started shooting for Ramesh Sippy's forthcoming project "Shimla Mirchi".

"The first day of shooting for Shimla Mirchi- with my Director Ramesh Sippy who is also doing a cameo in the movie (sic)," she tweeted Sunday.

The duo together gave hits like "Andaz", "Seeta Aur Geeta" and "Sholay".

"Shimla Mirchi" also stars Rajkummar Rao, who called it an "unusual film". He even expressed his excitement to romance Hema Malini on the big screen.

"Shimla Mirchi" is a romantic comedy, and if reports are to be believed, its story is about how a single mother (Hema Malini) and her daughter (Rakul Preet Singh) fall in love with the same man, essayed by Rajkummar.

Anup Rubens to score tunes for NTR's "Neno Rakam"

NTR is currently busy shooting for Puri Jagannath’s upcoming flick which is tentatively titled as "Neno Rakam".  Kajal Agarwal is playing female lead opposite NTR for the third time in this cop drama. The shooting is gearing in fast pace and the latest news is that Anup Rubens has been roped to scored music for this movie.  Earlier it is reported that Devi Sri Prasad is composing music for this film but close sources revealed that, Anoop Rubens has replaced Devi. The actual reasons for replacement are yet to be known. Earlier, Anup Rubens teamed up with Puri Jagannath for 'Heart Attack' which has got couple of chartbuster songs.  'Neno Rakam' will be produced by Bellamkonda Suresh under his home banner Sri Sai Ganesh Productions.

'Fireflies' to hit the screens on October 31st

Rahul Khanna and Monica Dogra starrer film 'Fireflies' is now all set to hit the silver screens in India on 31st of October 2014. Directed by Sabal Singh Sheikhawat, the movie is being produced by Wild Geese Pictures and distributed by Panorama Studios. The film also stars the very talented Arjun Mathur who has been a part of films like Mira Nair’s Migration and Zoya Akhtar’s Luck by Chance.

'Fireflies' is a drama capturing the lives of two estranged brothers. One brother who leads a very successful life as a banker and the other who is a law school drop out and lives by the day. Fate brings them together when a tragedy that struck them 15 years ago re-manifests itself in a new avatar in their life. Monica plays the love interest of the character essayed by Arjun in the film, which is said to be an emotional journey of self-discovery.

Shankar's 'I' finally wraps up shoot

The shoot of Shankar's upcoming magnum opus "I" which stars Vikram in the lead role has just wrapped up. On this note, the entire cast and crew had a small celebrations on the sets. The film unit arranged a cake and director Shankar had cut it. Amy Jackson who is playing female lead opposite Vikram in "I" shared a picture in her Twitter page and wrote, “2 and a half years later.. And it's a WRAP!!!!”

Directed by Shankar, I has been reportedly made on a budget of over Rs. 150 crore. It also features Suresh Gopi and Upen Patel in important roles. The film's soundtrack, which has music by AR Rahman, was recently unveiled in the presence of Hollywood star Arnold Schwarzenegger and Rajinikanth

Sushant Singh Rajput is still a part of Sekhar Kapur's 'Paani'

Sushant Singh Rajput is angry with a section of the press for publishing reports suggesting that he has walked out of Sekhar Kapur's ambitious project 'Paani'. There were reports that Sushant had tight schedule and so has opted out of the film. But denying all the rumors, Sushant has clarified that he is very much part of the film.

"We were very amused to read speculations that Sushant Singh Rajput is not in Paani due to a variety of absurd reasons. There is absolutely NO truth to it. Sushant keeps a low profile and let's his work speak for itself. He has recently completed 'Detective Byomkesh Bakshi' and is deep in preparations for 'Paani' given the scale of the film," said his spokesperson.

Ayesha Kapoor has been roped to play female lead opposite Sushant. ‘Paani’, which is to go on floors by coming December, is produced by Yash Raj Films with music by A.R. Rahman. 'Paani' is set in the futuristic period of 2050. It depicts the story about how the world will be torn apart due to water scarcity, with the big corporate and multinational companies using thirst as a weapon to gain control over the population. 

'Liar's Dice' is India's entry for the Oscars

Geetu Mohandas's award winning Hindi film "Liar's Dice" has been zeroed in on as India's entry for the best foreign film category at the 87th Academy Awards. The film has been chosen by a 12-member jury appointed by the Film Federation of India (FFI), and out of a record number of 30 shortlisted films. Geethanjali Thapa and Nawazuddin Siddiqui played lead roles.  The film also features Murari Kumar and Mukesh Tiwari in supporting role.

'Liar's Dice' won the best cinematography honour for Rajeev Ravi and best actress title for Geetanjali at the 61st National Film Awards. It was selected at the Sundance Film Festival and International Film Festival Rotterdam. Part road movie and part survival drama, 'Liar’s Dice' tells the story of a young tribal mother who, along with her three-year-old daughter, embarks on a journey in search of her missing husband. On the way, she meets an army deserter, who decides to accompany them to their destination.
